The Latin America Agribusiness Webinar Series is an initiative designed to introduce New Zealand companies to opportunities in the wider Latin American Agribusiness sector. Anyone with an interest in understanding agribusiness opportunities in Latin America is invited to join.
This webinar is the third, and final in our series and offers the opportunity to hear directly from New Zealand agritech companies that have successfully entered Latin American markets, as well as in-market representatives who work with New Zealand companies.

Speakers
Barry Allison
Barry is the International Market Development Manager Latin America for Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC), and he has been involved in the sales and marketing of New Zealand agritech products for nearly 30 years. Prior to joining LIC, he held internationally-focused roles with electric fencing company Speedrite, which later became Trutest, and Open Country Dairy. Over this time Barry has spent time living in both Mexico and Brazil, where he was first based when he joined LIC. Barry was born and raised on a family dairy farm in Waikato, and spent his last year of high school as an exchange student in Goiania, Brazil. He has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Massey University.
Jacinto Trigo
Jacinto is the Regional Director - Latin America for TOMRA Fresh Food (formerly Compac), and is based in Santiago, Chile. He has more than 12 years of experience in the agricultural technology sector, specifically in business development in Latin American markets. He also has vast experience in emerging market strategies, leading sales and service teams, and developing strategic allies. Jacinto is an industrial engineer and holds an MBA from IAE Business School in Argentina.
Ricardo Garzón Félix
Ricardo is the Business Development Officer for AGSO Ecuador and is the General Manager of Gallagher del Ecuador. He has more than 20 years experience in the agricultural industry with a particular focus on dairy production and the introduction of new technologies to Ecuadorian markets, and has well established networks across the agri sector in Ecuador. In addition to Gallagher, Ricardo has worked on developing the Ecuadorian market for a number of international agri companies, including cattle genetics, farm administration, and topographic and GIS technologies. Ricardo has a degree in agricultural sustainability from USFQ (Ecuador), a postgraduate degree in milk production under grassing systems by UCE (Ecuador)/Massey (New Zealand), and a Masters in Agribusiness from EADIC (Spain). He also has completed the Cochran Program in Beef Production by the USDA (US).
Rodger Douglas
Rodger is the founder and Managing Director of Agropecuaria Sete Copas - a large-scale pasture-based dairy farming business in the tropical highlands of Brazil that has adapted the New Zealand pasture-based model to the local environment. He is also a partner with his two brothers in ITR Ag Ltd which operates five dairy farms in Northland New Zealand. Rodger holds a BApplSci from Massey University and an MBA from INSEAD. He has been based in Brazil since 2012.
MODERATOR: Roberto Fava Scare
Roberto is the co-founder and senior partner of the Markestrat Group and has over 20 years experience in consulting, research, and training for agribusiness companies in Latin America, the USA, and India, in particular in business and marketing strategies, and producers’ behavior. He is also an investor in several startups in the Brazilian agribusiness market. Roberto has a degree in marketing from ESPM (Brazil), in Law from Largo São Francisco, and holds a Doctorate and MBA from USP (FEA-SP).
